BIOGRAPHY

Ron Alperin is an American drummer, born on July 5, 1966, in New York. He began his musical career at the age of fourteen by playing in jazz clubs in his hometown. In 1984, he joined the prestigious Juilliard School, where he studied with Marvin Smith and Lewis Nash. After graduating in 1988, Alperin immediately began collaborating with renowned jazz artists such as Red Rodney, Joe Henderson, Benny Golson, Wynton Marsalis, and many others. In 1991, he was invited to join the esteemed Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, where he played for two years. In addition to his career in jazz, Alperin has also recorded and toured with renowned pop and rock artists such as Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Elton John, among others. In 2000, he joined the American rock band Phish, with whom he recorded two albums and performed numerous tours. In 2010, Alperin joined the jazz-rock fusion group The Dixie Dregs, with whom he recorded the album "Divided We Stand". Ron Alperin is recognized as one of the most versatile drummers of his generation, and he continues his touring and studio work with numerous jazz, pop, and rock artists.
