BIOGRAPHY
Riva Elegance is a French music artist born in 1968 in Paris. Growing up in a family passionate about music, he began playing the piano at the age of 8. At 16, he decided to become a professional musician and worked as a pianist in various jazz clubs in Paris. In 1988, he met guitarist and composer Jean-Pierre Danel and they began collaborating together. In 1990, they released their first album, "Rendez-vous", which was a huge success in France. They followed up with several other albums such as "Blue Note" (1992), "Paris" (1995), "New York" (1998), "Rio" (2001) and "Tokyo" (2004). In 2006, Riva Elegance released his first solo album, "Souvenirs", to critical acclaim.
He followed up with several other solo albums such as "Paris" (2007), "New York" (2009), "Rio" (2011) and "Tokyo" (2013). In 2014, he released his latest album, "Jazz", which was well received by critics and nominated for several awards. Riva Elegance is considered one of the best French jazz pianists of his generation. He has had the opportunity to perform alongside jazz greats such as Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, among others. He has also been invited to perform with the Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France and the Orchestre national de France.
Riva Elegance is a respected artist in France and abroad, having given numerous concerts around the world and participating in renowned festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Newport Jazz Festival, the Toronto Jazz Festival and the New York Jazz Festival. In addition, he teaches jazz piano at the National Music School of Paris and conducts masterclasses in many universities and music schools around the world.
