The group formed in 2006, after Jason Derulo and Lil Jon met at a party in Miami. They were later joined by Red Foo and Will.i.am. The group released their first album, The Party Rock Album, in 2006. The album reached second place on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The group's second album, Rock the Party, was released in 2007 and reached fifth place on the Billboard 200. The group then took a break due to the members' professional commitments. They announced their return in 2016 and released the single "Party Rockin' the Night Away."
