Matt Hardwick is a British producer and trance and progressive music DJ. He began his musical career as a bassist in a local rock band before turning to electronic music production. In 2000, he released his first production under the name "Matt Hardwick vs. Smith & Pledger", titled "White", which became a hit in the clubs. Hardwick has since released several other singles and remixed tracks for artists such as Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, and Above & Beyond. In 2006, he released his first album, "Global Trance Grooves", to critical acclaim. Hardwick also founded the record label Monster Tunes in 2002, which has released tracks from several prominent trance artists, including Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, and Above & Beyond. In 2010, Hardwick was named "DJ of the Year" at the DJ Awards.
