BIOGRAPHY

Mabel, real name Mabel Alabama-Pearl McVey, is a British singer born on February 20, 1996 in Spain. She grew up between the Sierra de Málaga and Stockholm before relocating to London. This R&B singer is known for her powerful voice and rich lyrics. Mabel is the daughter of producer Cameron McVey, known for his work with Massive Attack and Portishead, and singer Neneh Cherry. The artist first showcased her talent in 2015 with the track "Know Me Better", and has since continued to captivate audiences with her songs. In 2017, she released her first EP, "Bedroom", which was followed by another EP, "Ivy to Roses", later that same year. Her song "Don't Call Me Up", released in 2019, reached the top ten in the UK, Australia, Ireland, and other countries. Mabel was nominated for BRIT Awards in 2020 in the categories of "British Female Solo Artist" and "Song of the Year" for "Don't Call Me Up". She also won the "Best Newcomer" award at the 2017 MOBO Awards. Her debut album, "High Expectations", was released in August 2019. She has collaborated with several renowned artists such as AJ Tracey, Stefflon Don, and 24kGoldn. Her musical style is characterized by a fusion of pop, R&B, and grime, with a significant influence from her parents' musical legacy.
