BIOGRAPHY
Disclosure is a British electronic music duo consisting of brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence. Their music is mainly influenced by house, garage, and bass music. Their first album, Settle, was released in 2013 and reached the top of the dance/electronica album charts in the United States and the United Kingdom. In 2015, their second album, Caracal, was certified gold in the United Kingdom. They have also produced remixes for various artists, including Sam Smith, London Grammar, AlunaGeorge, Jessie Ware, and Eliza Doolittle.
Guy and Howard Lawrence grew up in Reigate, Surrey. They began producing music at the age of 15, drawing inspiration from garage and house. They signed their first contract with the Moshi Moshi label in 2010 and released their first single, "Offline Dexterity," in 2011. They followed this with the release of their second single, "Tenderly / Flow," in 2012. Their first album, Settle, was released in 2013 and was certified gold in the United Kingdom. It reached the top of the dance/electronica album charts in the United States. In 2015, they released their second album, Caracal, which was also certified gold in the United Kingdom. In 2016, they released the single "Magnets" in collaboration with Lorde. The single reached the top of the dance/electronica singles chart in the United States.
In 2017, Disclosure collaborated with the California R&B group Kalin and Myles on the single "Ryda." In 2018, they released the single "Ultimatum" in collaboration with Fatoumata Diawara. In 2019, they released the single "Where Angels Fear to Tread" in collaboration with Erika Jayne.
Disclosure has been nominated for numerous awards, including the Grammy Awards, Brit Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards. In 2014, they won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronica Album. In 2015, they won the Brit Award for Best Dance/Electronica Album. In 2016, they won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Dance/Electronica Album.
