Blackfield is an international alternative rock band formed in 2001. The band was founded by Aviv Geffen, a multi-instrumentalist musician from Israel, and Steven Wilson, a British musician who is also the main songwriter for the progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. Blackfield released their self-titled debut album "Blackfield" in 2004. The collaborative work of Aviv and Steven combines rich melodies, impactful lyrics, and innovative production. Their music is distinctly melodic, with a sound that shifts between sharp rock and tenderly orchestrated ballads. The lyrics of their songs often touch on heavy themes of despair and sadness, while maintaining a certain lyrical subtlety.
