Tove Lo, whose real name is Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson, is a Swedish singer-songwriter and producer born on October 29, 1987 in Stockholm. She is part of the electronic music collective Swedish House Mafia.
Tove Lo grew up in Djursholm, a suburb north of Stockholm. She began writing songs at the age of 15, and later studied music at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. She then worked as a production assistant and songwriter for various artists before signing a contract with Universal Music in 2013.
Her debut album, Queen of the Clouds, was released in 2014 and reached number two on the Swedish chart. The album was certified gold in Sweden and received a Grammy Award for Best Dance Song for the single "Habits (Stay High)". Her second album, Lady Wood, was released in 2016 and topped the Swedish chart. The album was certified gold in Sweden and received a Grammy Award for Best Dance Song for the single "Cool Girl".
Tove Lo has also collaborated with many artists including Flume, Years & Years, Broods, Alesso, Coldplay, and Maroon 5. In 2019, she released her third album, Sunshine Kitty, which reached the number one spot on the Swedish chart. The album was certified gold in Sweden and received a Grammy Award for Best Dance Song for the single "Bodies".
