BIOGRAPHY
Switchfoot is an American rock band from San Diego, California. Formed in 1996, it consists of Jon Foreman (singer/guitarist), Tim Foreman (bassist), Chad Butler (drummer) and Jerome Fontamillas (keyboardist/guitarist).
The band has released 11 studio albums, including their latest, Native Tongue, in 2019. They have also released a Christmas album, The Edge of the Earth, in 2006. Their best-known songs include "Dare You to Move", "Meant to Live" and "Stars".
Switchfoot adopted its name from the English surfing term for a back flip. The band was first signed by Columbia Records, then moved to RED Ink Records in 2003 and Atlantic Records in 2005. Their album Oh! Gravity. reached 9th place on the Billboard 200 in 2006.
