BIOGRAPHY
Paul Sparkes is a British musician and composer born in 1965. He studied music at the University of York and later worked as a professional musician for several years. In 2003, he created his own musical production company, Sparkes Music, and has since produced numerous albums and works for theatre, film, and television. His most well-known works include film music for The Last Samurai (2003) and The Da Vinci Code (2006), as well as the music for the television series Sherlock (2010-2017).
Sparkes has also written a series of children's books, The Adventures of Charlie (2009-2012), and an adult novel, The Memory of Ghosts (2016).
In 2018, Sparkes was named Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to music.
