BIOGRAPHY
Mauricio Campana is a Brazilian musical artist born in Rio de Janeiro on June 13, 1966.
Campana began his career playing piano in Rio de Janeiro's jazz clubs. In 1988, he was invited to perform with guitarist Pat Metheny at the Montreal Jazz Festival. This performance was well-received by the public and led to a two-year world tour with Metheny.
In 1990, Campana released his first solo album, simply titled "Mauricio Campana". He then recorded two albums with guitarist Romero Lubambo, "Rio" (1991) and "Sambop" (1992).
In 1994, Campana released a solo album titled "Piano Brasileiro", which was well-received by critics.
In 1997, Campana released another solo album, "Piano Brasileiro", which was also well-received by critics.
In addition to his solo work, Campana has collaborated with guitarist Romero Lubambo on two other albums, "Rio" (1991) and "Sambop" (1992).
