BIOGRAPHY
Laidback Luke, whose real name is Lucas Cornelis van Scheppingen, is a Dutch DJ and electronic music producer, born on October 22, 1976, in Eindhoven.
He began his career in 1993 and gained international success with his track "Break of Dawn" in 2002. In 2006, he founded his own music production company, Mixmash Records.
Laidback Luke grew up in Hoensbroek, Netherlands, and started playing electronic music at the age of 14 after discovering techno on a local radio.
He quickly began composing his own music and performing in clubs. In 1993, he won the DMC World DJ Championship.
After finishing his studies, Laidback Luke worked as a DJ and producer for various record labels, such as Sony Music Entertainment and Virgin Records.
In 2002, his song "Break of Dawn" was a massive hit internationally, and in 2006, he founded his own music production company, Mixmash Records.
Laidback Luke is considered one of the world's best DJs. In 2011, he was ranked 9th in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs, and 8th in 2012.
