BIOGRAPHY
Jean-Willy Kunz, better known as Funkerman, is a Dutch DJ, producer, and remixer specializing in house and electro music.
Born on June 18, 1974, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Jean-Willy Kunz began his career playing saxophone in a jazz band during his teenage years. He later turned to the study of electronic music in university, before moving on to DJing and remixing for clubs and radios.
In 2006, Kunz released his first single, "Speed Up," under the label Flamingo Recordings. The track became an international success, reaching number one on the charts in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Following this, Kunz continued with several other singles and albums, including "In the Air" (2007), "Forever" (2008), and "This Is Your Life" (2009).
Funkerman has also made a name for himself remixing songs for numerous artists such as Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Usher. In 2010, he was even named DJ of the Year at the IDMA Awards.
Today, Kunz resides in Los Angeles, California, USA.
