Carly Rae Jepsen is a Canadian singer-songwriter born on November 21, 1985 in Mission, British Columbia. She rose to fame in 2007 when she finished third on the fifth season of the Canadian Idol television show. After her appearance on the show, Jepsen signed a deal with Fontana and MapleMusic, and released her first album, Tug of War, in September 2008. However, it was in 2012, after signing with Interscope Records, that Carly Rae Jepsen truly broke onto the international scene with her single "Call Me Maybe".
