BIOGRAPHY
Armin van Buuren is a Dutch DJ, producer, and composer. He was ranked number one on the Top 100 DJ Mag in 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2012-2015. He holds the record for the most Grammy Award nominations for Best Dance Recording.
Raised in Leiden, van Buuren began playing classical music at the age of five and studied piano for nine years. At the age of 14, he became interested in techno and house music, and bought his first turntable at age 16. In 1995, he released his first production, "Blue Fear."
In 1997, he released his first album, "76," under the name Armin. The album was a success in Europe, followed by two more albums, "Communication" (1999) and "Shivers" (2005). In 2007, he released the album "Imagine," which topped the Dutch and Belgian charts. In 2008, he released the album "Intense," which topped the charts in the Netherlands and Belgium, and reached the top 10 in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, and Ireland.
In 2010, he released the album "Mirage," which topped the charts in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Norway, and Poland. In 2012, he released the album "Intense," which topped the charts in the Netherlands and Belgium, and reached the top 10 in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, and Ireland.

Van Buuren is also the founder of the label Armada Music. In 2011, he created the festival "A State of Trance," which has become one of the largest electronic music festivals in the world. In 2012, he was named "DJ of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards.
Armin van Buuren is married to Erika van Thiel, with whom he has two children. He resides in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
