BIOGRAPHY
M People is a British music group formed in Manchester in 1990. The group is made up of Mike Pickering, Heather Small and Paul Heard. Mike, the founder of the group, was previously the founder of the legendary House Factory Records label and a member of the group Quando Quango. He was joined by Paul Heard, a former member of the Acid Jazz group, and by Heather Small, whose unique voice gives the group its distinctive sound. M People has won numerous awards, including the Brit Award for Best Dance in 1994 and 1995, as well as the Mercury Music Prize in 1994 for their album "Elegant Slumming". The group has had several major hits, including "Moving On Up", "One Night In Heaven" and "Search For The Hero". Despite Heather Small's departure for a solo career in 1998, the group continues to perform occasionally.
