Apache Indian is a British musical artist of Indian origin. His real name is Steven Kapur, and he was born on May 11, 1967 in Birmingham, England. He was one of the first South Asian artists to achieve commercial success and has made a mark in the music industry with his unique style of reggae fused with bhangra and hip-hop. Apache Indian was recognized for his innovative work when he received the Ivor Novello Award in 1991 for his song "Arranged Marriage". Later in 1993, Apache Indian released his biggest hit "Boom Shack-a-Lak" which was featured in several Hollywood films and TV commercials. His songs often address social and political issues, and he is known for his involvement in various causes. Apache Indian also founded his own music and dance center in Handsworth, Birmingham, aimed at helping young people in need.
