BIOGRAPHY
Sylvester was an American singer-songwriter, actor, and drag queen. He was best known for his disco hits "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" and "Dance (Disco Heat)", both released in 1978. He gained mainstream recognition with his album Step II, released in 1979 and reaching the top 40 of the Billboard 200. Throughout his career, Sylvester received several awards, including the Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" in 1979. He was posthumously inducted into the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus Hall of Fame in 2014.
