BIOGRAPHY
Oliver Cheatham was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer, best known for his 1983 hit "Get Down Saturday Night". Born in Detroit, Michigan, Cheatham began his career as a member of the group First Choice, with whom he experienced several successes in the 1970s. He then went on to have a successful solo career, recording several hits in the 1980s, such as "Get Down Saturday Night", "Mind, Body & Soul", and "Something About You". Cheatham also worked as a producer and songwriter, collaborating with several artists, including Michael Jackson, Madonna, Lionel Richie, and Patti LaBelle. He passed away in 2013 at the age of 66.
