The New Jersey Connection is an American music group that was formed in 1977. The group was founded by singer and guitarist Bruce Springsteen and bassist Garry Tallent. The group also included guitarist Steve Van Zandt, keyboardist Roy Bittan, drummer Max Weinberg, and saxophonist Clarence Clemons. The group released seven studio albums and two live albums. Their first album, "Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.", was released in 1973. The album was followed by "The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle" in 1974. The album "Born to Run", released in 1975, was a commercial success and reached number one on the Billboard 200. The album was followed by "Darkness on the Edge of Town" in 1978. The album "The River", released in 1980, was another commercial success and reached number one on the Billboard 200. The album "Nebraska", released in 1982, was a conceptual album about crime and poverty. The album "Born in the U.S.A.", released in 1984, was a commercial success and reached number one on the Billboard 200. The album was followed by "Tunnel of Love" in 1987. The album "Human Touch", released in 1992, was another commercial success and reached number one on the Billboard 200.
