Mory Kante is an African music artist born in Guinea in 1954. He began his career playing the balafon before turning to the guitar. In 1977, he joined the Rail Band where he played for six years. In 1983, he embarked on a solo career with his album "Yeke Yeke". This album was a huge international success, reaching the top of the Billboard World Music Chart. Kante followed up with the production of solo albums and collaborations with various artists such as Peter Gabriel, Youssou N'Dour and Herbie Hancock. In 2000, he was made Commander of the National Order of Guinea. Considered one of the most important African musicians of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, Mory Kante has left an indelible mark on the world of music.
