Mike Oldfield is a British musician and composer born on May 15, 1953, in Reading, England. He is known for his long-form works, such as "Tubular Bells," "Hergest Ridge," and "Ommadawn," as well as for his collaborations with artists like Robert Fripp, Steve Hillage, Virgin Records, and Warner Bros. Records. Oldfield has also composed music for films, ballets, and television shows and has won numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards.
