Indeep is an American disco and new wave music group formed in 1981 in New York. The group consists of six members: James Robinson Jr. (vocals, keyboards), Michael Wright (vocals, bass), Tyrone Williams (vocals, drums), Joseph Robinson (guitar), Melvin Glover (vocals, percussion) and Ricky West (vocals, percussion).
Indeep found success with their single "Last Night a D.J. Saved My Life", which reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1982. The group also had a hit with the single "The Record Made Me Do It", which reached number fifteen on the Hot 100.
Indeep was formed in 1981 by James Robinson Jr. and Michael Wright, two New York musicians. The group was later joined by Tyrone Williams, Joseph Robinson, Melvin Glover, and Ricky West.
