BIOGRAPHY
Erasure is an English synth-pop group formed in 1985 in London, England. The group is composed of Vince Clarke and Andy Bell. Erasure achieved significant commercial success in the 1980s and 1990s, with 16 singles charting in the UK Top 40, including two number ones, and seven albums charting in the Billboard 200 Top 40 in the United States. Their first album, Wonderland, was an immediate commercial success, and their second album, The Circus, was an even bigger success, reaching number three in the UK and number 27 in the US. Their third album, The Innocents, was even more popular, reaching number one in the UK and number 21 in the US. Over the following decade, Erasure continued to produce Top 40 hits, including "Always", "Oh L'Amour", "Love to Hate You", "Breath of Life" and "In My Arms". Erasure has sold over 25 million records worldwide, and was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.
