The Rasmus is a Finnish rock band formed in 1994 in Helsinki. The band consists of Lauri Ylönen (singer and guitarist), Eero Heinonen (bassist), Pauli Rantasalmi (guitarist), and Aki Hakala (drummer). The band has had international success with their albums Playboys (1997), Hell of a Tester (1998), Into (2001), Dead Letters (2003), and Hide from the Sun (2005). Their album Black Roses (2008) reached number one on the charts in Finland and Germany. In 2012, the band released the album Circle, which was a success in Finland and Germany. The band has sold over 8 million albums worldwide and has been nominated for numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards, four MTV Europe Music Awards, and six NRJ Music Awards.
