"Destiny Nicole Frasqueri, also known by her stage name Princess Nokia, is an American rapper, producer, and activist of Puerto Rican descent. Born and raised in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, she launched her musical career in 2011 with the release of her first albums on Bandcamp. Princess Nokia later signed with the independent label Rough Trade Records and released her first studio album, 'Metallic Butterfly', in 2014. In 2016, she gained mainstream success with the release of her second album, '1992', which reached number one on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. In 2018, she released a mixtape titled 'A Girl Cried Red'. In addition to her musical career, Princess Nokia is also known for her philanthropic work and activism in support of women's rights, people of color, and the LGBTQIA+ community."
