Low is an American music group formed in 1993 in Duluth, Minnesota. They are often associated with the musical genre called "slowcore," which is characterized by slow tempos, minimalist arrangements, and subtle performances. The group was founded by couple Alan Sparhawk (guitar and vocals) and Mimi Parker (drums and vocals), to whom various bassists have joined over the years. Low is known for its emotionally charged music and soft, melancholic vocal harmonies between Sparhawk and Parker. Their unique sound often combines simple and captivating melodies with introspective lyrics. Over the years, the group has evolved by incorporating elements of rock, electronic, and even pop, while maintaining their distinctive approach to tempo and dynamics.
