"Low" ist eine US-amerikanische Musikgruppe, die 1993 in Duluth, Minnesota, gegründet wurde. Sie werden häufig mit dem Musikgenre "Slowcore" in Verbindung gebracht, das sich durch langsame Tempi, minimalistische Arrangements und subtile Darbietungen auszeichnet. Die Gruppe wurde von dem Paar Alan Sparhawk (Gitarre und Gesang) und Mimi Parker (Schlagzeug und Gesang) gegründet, denen sich im Laufe der Jahre verschiedene Bassisten anschlossen. Low ist für seine emotional aufgeladene Musik und die zarten, melancholischen Harmonien zwischen Sparhawk und Parker bekannt. Ihr einzigartiger Sound verbindet oft einfache und fesselnde Melodien mit nachdenklichen Texten. Im Laufe der Jahre hat sich die Gruppe weiterentwickelt, indem sie Elemente von Rock, Elektronik und sogar Pop einbezog, wobei sie ihren charakteristischen Ansatz in Bezug auf Tempo und Dynamik beibehielten. Zu ihren bemerkenswertesten Alben gehören "I Could Live in Hope" (1994), "Things We Lost in the Fire" (2001) und "Double Negative" (2018), wobei letzteres für seinen innovativen Einsatz von Verzerrung und elektronischen Effekten Lob erhielt. Low bleibt auch heute noch einflussreich in der Welt der unabhängigen Musik, geschätzt für seine Fähigkeit, sich weiterzuentwickeln, während es seiner ursprünglichen Ästhetik treu bleibt.
