Beyond est un groupe de rock hongkongais formé en 1983. Le groupe était composé à l'origine de Wong Ka Kui, Wong Ka Keung, Yip Sai Wing et Paul Wong. Beyond est célèbre pour ses chansons engagées avec des thèmes sociaux et politiques, notamment la justice sociale et la liberté. Le groupe a acquis une grande popularité à Hong Kong et en Asie de l'Est dans les années 1980 et 1990. Leur chanson la plus célèbre, "Glorious Days" (光輝歲月), est un hommage à Nelson Mandela et à sa lutte contre l'apartheid en Afrique du Sud. La tragique mort du leader et chanteur Wong Ka Kui en 1993 suite à une chute lors d'une émission de télévision au Japon a marqué un tournant pour le groupe. Après la mort de Wong Ka Kui, Beyond a continué à produire de la musique et à se produire, bien que leur popularité et influence aient diminué. Le groupe a finalement décidé de se séparer en 2005. Malgré cela, leur musique reste influente et continue d'être écoutée et respectée, non seulement à Hong Kong mais aussi parmi les communautés chinoises du monde entier.
