Switchfoot est un groupe de rock américain originaire de San Diego, en Californie. Formé en 1996, il est composé de Jon Foreman (chanteur/guitariste), Tim Foreman (bassiste), Chad Butler (batteur) et Jerome Fontamillas (claviers/guitariste). Le groupe a sorti 11 albums studio, dont le dernier, Native Tongue, en 2019. Ils ont également sorti un album de Noël, The Edge of the Earth, en 2006. Leurs chansons les plus connues incluent "Dare You to Move", "Meant to Live" et "Stars". Switchfoot a emprunté son nom au terme anglais du surf pour un virage en arrière. Le groupe a d'abord été signé par Columbia Records, puis est passé chez RED Ink Records en 2003 et Atlantic Records en 2005. Leur album Oh! Gravity. a atteint la 9e place du Billboard 200 en 2006.
